Exciting Changes Are Coming to the BIAU!

At the end of May, the BIAU will be closing its office in Murray and moving to a new office in the Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital at the University of Utah. This means much of the office furniture will be for sale, and helmets are discounted to $5 from now until May 31. Address and phone number changes will be updated as soon as possible. A word from our Executive Director on upcoming changes:

Dear BIAU Family, 

Greetings to you all from the office in Murray. As we all know, our world has vastly changed in recent months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To continue meeting the needs of the brain injury community in Utah, your BIAU is adapting to the new normal with some big and exciting changes!

Effective June 1, 2020, through the generosity and vision of members of the BIAU Board of Directors, we will be located on a 3-day per week basis at the new Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital at the University of Utah. What an exciting opportunity this is for increased service by, and awareness of, the Alliance! In conjunction with the relocation, our office in Murray will permanently close on May 31, 2020.

The “traditional” BIAU 5K will be anything but traditional this year! In the coming weeks we will be rolling out a “Virtual 5K” that everyone — yes, virtually everyone — can do. Our tentative kick-off date is June 8, so stay on the lookout for more information soon!

I am pleased to share that our plans for the Annual Family & Professionals Conference are proceeding. An outstanding group of both local and national speakers has been secured. Please save the dates of October 1-2, 2020. This year’s event will also feature our 2nd Annual Gala dinner. The conference will be held in downtown Salt Lake City.

Amidst the many changes our vital work continues. Like so many other organizations, we have been forced to make staff and expense reductions during this time, and we ask you to work with us in the weeks ahead. I can assure you that the Board of Directors and staff remain deeply committed to the continued success, and more importantly, the mission, of the BIAU.

A couple of housekeeping items:

Our office furniture in Murray is available for sale and/or release. We have several desks, bookcases, tables, dressers, and more. Please reach out to Glenn Lanham at glenn@biau.org, or call us, if you or anyone you know would be interested! ALL MUST GO. Please also let us know if there are other non-profit organizations who might benefit.

There’s a helmet sale between now and May 31 too – back to $5 to help promote safe cycling!
