Who is BIAU?
The Brain Injury Association of Utah was created in 1984 as a 501©(3) non-profit organization. This Association is the only non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to education and support for the issues of prevention and recovery of brain injury in the state of Utah. BIAU has coalitions with major hospitals, governmental agencies, and rehabilitation centers to provide a network of support, information, and help. Your support will strengthen this network and make a significant difference in the lives of those who have suffered a brain injury.
Mission
The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Utah is to create a better future through brain injury prevention, research, education and advocacy.
Vision
- Stimulate public and professional awareness of the problems of brain injury.
- Provide a central clearinghouse for information and resources for the brain injured and their families.
- Develop a support group network for the brain injured and their families.
- Support specialized brain injury rehabilitation programs. Encourage existing programs and support the development of new programs where none exist.
A Message from the Brain Injury Association of Utah
People who have suddenly become involved with traumatic brain injury often wonder where they can find someone who can tell them what to expect. Some fear they may not be getting candid answers and others hesitate to ask questions due to their concern over the answers they receive. The simple truth is that no one can accurately predict all eventual outcomes. This leaves family members, as well as those who have been injured, perched somewhere between high hopes and deep despair.
The Brain Injury Association of Utah (BIAU) is always available to assist people who have these concerns.
